Due to the fact that we live so close together, we have had many conversations over the past few years. From the start, I took comfort in the fact that you lived on our street. Last summer, you told us that your Company also does residential renovations. The timing was perfect because it was clear that our house required major renovations. Based on my assessment of your character and the manner in which you conduct yourself, I knew there was really only one choice for the job - Vantage Builders.

The scope of the renovations was significant and included a complete makeover of the kitchen and two bathrooms, new flooring, windows, and lighting throughout the house as well as new interior doors, baseboards, fireplace area and major electrical upgrades.

Of course we had heard the horror stories about home renovations - expect additional time and cost. The estimated time to complete the entire project was 8 weeks. We were excited and apprehensive that so much could be accomplished in that small time frame. The actual project lasted a little longer, but most of the additional time was attributable to the city of Winnipeg. In addition, the renovated rooms were inhabitable during the final weeks of the project, making the finish line much more visible. Only minor finishes were outstanding. Your team did their best to work around us, which was much appreciated.

As for the cost, you were very clear from the start that you don't lowball in order to get the job, only to bill more costs later. This was very important to us. This was our first major home renovation; we didn't have a large cushion to play with. The additional costs were negligible and were due to changes we elected to make or issues with the house that were not apparent at the start of the job. None of the additional costs were attributable to Vantage Builders.

The entire team was great, including the interior design duo Tracy and Annie. Nearly all of the work was conducted while we were at work, which made living during such a renovation much easier. As well, time was allotted to the end of each day for a comprehensive cleanup. Communication was also very important to us. Our phone calls and emails were returned promptly and we were never made to feel that we were a bother or that our concerns were invalid. Detailed explanations were given when we wanted to delve into certain issues. All renovations encounter issues that were not anticipated. These were addressed as a challenge, not a problem, and were promptly communicated to us. We always felt that you had our best interest at heart, whether it relate to safety, structural integrity, or finances.

I would highly recommend you to others. We plan to renovate our entire basement in the next 3 to 5 years and without hesitation I can say that we will use you for that renovation as well.

I am writing to let you know that we are extremely pleased with the addition that you constructed on our home, and to thank you and your team for your efforts and consideration throughout the project. It is amazing how this relatively small addition to our master bedroom has improved the enjoyment of our home.

We were particularly impressed with your ability to obtain the services of high quality subcontractors in the most timely manner at each phase of the work. At the outset, we were very concerned about undertaking a renovation project with the potential for disruption and mess that could result. Each day when we returned home from work, we found we had to go and look in the bedroom to see what had changed, because there was usually no other evidence that anyone had been in the house while we were away.

We were especially pleased with the way the hardwood floor turned out. The man who did that part of the work is a master at his craft. We would never have believed that the existing fifty year old oak flooring could have been matched so closely, and that the dust could be so well contained when refinishing a hardwood floor.

We also valued your advice on the matter of whether to refinish or replace the baseboards, interior doors, and wood trim. Jared and Mario made an excellent job and we were very pleased with the outcome.

We would not hesitate to recommend your services to anyone considering a renovation or addition to their home.

We were provided with a written quotation and explanation of expected processes and time frames. My wife and I retained Vantage Builders to undertake several projects in relation to our 3,860 square foot home located in Tuxedo. These projects consisted of the supply and installation of new energy efficient windows and trim to replace 23 windows in our home, several of which are of a unique size and shape; the supply and installation of new eavestroughs and pre-finished metal soffits and fascia to cover existing wood materials; and the supply and installation of two carriage-style overhead garage doors.

My experience with Vantage Builders has been a very positive one. There were glitches, as one would expect during a renovation, along the way. However, they were dealt with in a very professional manner. There was even a major upset with the millwork company. This issue was resolved even before I was aware of the problem. Their trades were excellent and respectful of maintaining not only the tidiness of the renovation site but also the rest of the house. The foreman expected perfection from the tradesmen. He instilled confidence in me so much so that I knew I could leave all my worrying to him. And I did!

The result was a magazine quality master bedroom and bathroom ensuite. My next renovation project will definitely be with Vantage Builders.
